Between the realms of new and used cars lies a relatively new entry, that of Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) cars. While these cars are technically used, they offer a lot of benefits similar to new cars. We’ll compare the differences between used and CPO vehicles to help you decide which option is right for you at Quebedeaux Mitsubishi.
Certified Pre-Owned cars get their certified status from the manufacturer. Each automaker sets its own criteria for what can qualify as certified. For Mitsubishi cars, that means they need to be less than five years old and have fewer than 60,000 miles. From there, the cars go through an extensive 123-point inspection and reconditioning process.
Most CPO cars will come with some type of warranty. Mitsubishi CPO buyers get to enjoy the remainder of the original 10-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty along with the 5-year/60,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty and the 7-year/100,000-mile Anti-Corrosion Limited Warranty.
CPO cars typically will cost more than their non-certified counterparts. However, they come with a lot of built-in value.
A typical used car will cost you less than a CPO car. While it won’t be as thoroughly inspected by the dealership, you can always do this yourself or bring in someone you trust. In addition, if it doesn’t have any of its warranty remaining, you can purchase an after-market warranty.
Here at Quebedeaux Mitsubishi, we have a great selection of both CPO and used cars.
